David Nunn 

Institution: Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital NHS Trust

Dr Nunn received his undergraduate training in Oxford, prior to moving to Cambridge to do a PhD in intracellular calcium signalling. He completed his clinical training in Cambridge, and has remained in East Anglia since qualifying. He is a consultant at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, where he specialises in anaesthesia for major surgery, particularly patients presenting for vascular or oesophagogastric surgery. He also has a major interest in medical information systems, and has written a number of medicallybased computer programs, including an online system for booking patients presenting for emergency surgery, a pre-operative assessment portal, a scheduler for elective Caesarean Sections, a virtual GI endoscopy clinic, a system for plastic surgery implant requesting, a tool for collecting surgical data to assist with consultant appraisals and an online training course for interpretation of musculoskeletal radiography (currently with over 18,500 users). He has also run the website for the Vascular Anaesthesia Society of Great Britain and Ireland for the past 15 years.
